Hello, was just wondering, are there any other blind communities out there? there is this one of course. Then there is the blind planet which for some reason, I can't access smiles. And what else? I'm only asking this for information only and out of curiosity, no debates or anything intended, smiles. So what else is there?

there are a few, but you need to have a mic to talk to other users. there is vipconduit.com and some others, but I can't remember right now

Another voice community is Accessible World at http://www.accessibleworld.org. If you're a Bookshare subscriber, also check out http://friendsofbookshare.org.

hello everyone,
Like the others have said you pretty much do need a mic for most of
these.
Vipconduit.com has a list of most of them at their Items of Interest
link.
Yes accessibleworld.org does have a voice chat community but its used
at certain times so be sure to look at the site.
Also cotra.ca has one devoted to Canadian old time radio.
Acbradio.org has some rooms you can use without being a member at all.
Check ourplace.acbradio.org.
Ok, I hope I haven't missed anyone and most of all, enjoy yourselves.

If you aren't looking just for voice communities, try eyes2eyes.com. They have message boards similar to the ones here under the e-pals link.

hello all.
I have a slight correction. I went back to accessibleworld.org and
really don't know if they still discuss old time radio,
but yes they do have an informative voice chat community. they have a lot, so be sure to check the site carefully.
and the rooms are not used all the time.
Ok, think that is all for now. Ok, bye for now.

www.audio-tips.com
That's a voice chatting site. Don't know how popular it is anymore, but it does exist.

I know another site is called the accessible friends network, here in the UK. I think it has voice conferencing as well as games/activities and advice.

Hello, thanks for the information. Are there any other websites that use something to the quick note system? Or is voice chat more popular? Regards.

Hello everyone,
For more than just voice chat sites go to vipconduit.com and like I said in an earlier post check their Items Of Interest link.
Also don't know much about blind-planet.com but they do have more
than just voice chat is all I know.
I hope that helps, but yes it looks like voice chat sites are more popular. sorry about that and wish I could be more helpful.
Ok, bye for now.

hi.

u could try www.blinkchat.org.uk if u are looking for a discussion board a bit like the boards feature on the zone. it also has a basic private messaging system.

oh and one more thing: if u are going to use blinknation.com u will need to get an invitation to join from an existing member. blinknation have disabled standard registrations due to abuse of their system by spammers.

so is there any other phone chat numbers for the blind other than talkshop and zone by phone?

well, this is a media player too, but it is a community too, but klango

you can learn about it at
klango.net

Post 21 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Thursday, 03-Dec-2009 10:04:42

Klango is just too unorganized for their boards system in my opinion. They have it divided by language, then whether its computers games or other, but in my opinion, I think they should break it down a bit more.
